About Tripoli
Lebanon's major northern city feels less shaped for tourism than Beirut, Batroun or Byblos. Its historic centre contains markets, mosques, madrasas, hammams and khans, while El Mina connects the city to the sea.

Getting around
Road travel from Beirut and the coastal towns is the usual route. A taxi or transfer is simplest; buses and minibuses require more flexibility.
Plan transport between the historic centre and El Mina rather than assuming the whole city is one walkable area.
