Chouwan is an area and an entrance to Jabal Moussa Biosphere Reserve. This guide focuses specifically on the Lake Trail from the Chouwan entrance to Chouwen Lake.
The lake lies beside Nahr Ibrahim in the Adonis Valley. It should not be confused with the whole reserve or every trail starting at Chouwan.
The Lake Trail
The reserve official description classifies the trail as moderate. The descent may feel straightforward, but the uphill return requires more effort.
Trail status, difficulty rating, fees and booking rules can change. Check the reserve information before departure.
Other trails from Chouwan
The Chouwan Cultural Trail is a separate route with historic remains, a stone bridge, mills and agricultural terraces. Treat it as an alternative, not part of the Lake Trail.
This guide does not promote a particular waterfall because the official reserve information focuses on the lake, river, spring and trails.
